  Water and Fishing Conditions

Water Level is:

WATER 20 Feet in front of base of goal post on end of Island. . Norway DOWN from our flow. When you see that it means the water will change either up or down based on Norways flow.

Fish on the bite are:

      Fishing has beed BAD BAD BAD the last couple of days. River full of new hatch shad minnows 1" long and fish are eating them before they eat anything else. Water levels dropped very fast and that did not help and we are just starting to come off a full moon. Some of our better fisherman are not catching either and thet catch when no one else does. Hopefully it will pick up soon.   07-29---03:37p.m.

     A few fish caught Sun. night, but still pretty slow. Only 1 fishing today and no fish yet. Water is dowm a little, but rockpile is only showing a few rocks, water is still up past 100' sign at dam. 07-25---11:29a.m.

     No bite todat water still on rise as I post this. Fishing shut down due to fish relocating, may take hours for them to do that, look for them to bite again late in day or even Monday evening to get settled down.  07-25---12:59p.m.

     Weather killed fishing late and now water is up a lot, rockpile is almost all under water at this post. A few fishing and no fish so far. 07-25---10:58a.m.

     A few good fish caught Fri. evening and this a.m. fishing was very bad and then picked up a bunch in the early afternoon. 12  lb plus Catfish, 7 Lb plus Wiper, several other small Catfish, Drum, Smallmouth Bass and White Bass were also caught.  07-24---04:59p.m.

     Today has been very slow and very few fishing, night bite is best now. Fish last night included 23" Walleye 20" Walleye several othe good ones, 19" Smallmouth Bass, 14 1/4" White bass and several other good ones, and 1 9 Lb plus Wiper 26" long.  07-23---06:10p.m.

     Fishing picked up again Thurs, however not the quantity of big fish. Good numbers of fish, several White Bass, Smallmouth Bass, a few Catfish, a couple of good Wipers, several nice size Walleye and I caught 5 Buffalo and my lifetime friend from Ohio caught  "O"  : - )  !!!  Today several fishing and only 1 Bluegill and 1 Herring caught so far. 07-23---09:28a.m.

      Fishing slowed down a lot Wed. evening and today it has been very slow and only aa couple of people fishing and a few Bufalo caught. Water flow is shut down from dam and water is pretty low.   07-22---02:45p.m.

    Lots of Wipers caught Tues evening most in 4 to 8 lb range also a lot of Drum.   PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE TRASH, BAIT OR ANY DEAD FISH ON THE RIVER BANK. CONTAINERS ARE PROVIDED FOR THAT AND IF YOU ARE SEEN DOING IT YOU WILL BE FINED BY THE STATE OF INDIANA AS WELL AS THE LOSS OF YOUR CLUB MEMBERSHIP.  07-21---07:32A.M.

UPDATE: 07-29-10 0 CAMPSITS IN USE AT PRESENT TIME. 03 P.M.  There is a total of 26 camp sites with shelters on the grounds and several other spots available without shelters. 

Lures / Baits used:

Channel Catfish:Dip bait on shad minnows and night crawlersand Cut Bait

Wipers:Crank Baits and Jigs.

Fresh Water Drum ( white perch ): are being caught using night crawlers and red worms and jigs.

Walleye, Sauger, and Saugeye: on ,jigs,minnows,and minnow shape stick bait.,

Bluegill: on Beemoth and red worms.

White Bass: on minnows and jigs and rooster tails.

Flathead Catfish: on nightcrawlers and Bluegills.

Buffalo and Carp: on corn and doughballs.

Hot Colors:
Chartuse, White, Silver and Black, Firetiger, and Yellow.
Hint: Be nice to our resident Caretaker and he’ll point you in the
right direction to catch fish.
